Recap: I played only 2 lands, but played the War Dance enchantment and Serra’s Hymn and a Tusk Caller.  I got a third land on turn 9, and then died. Jazal almost won, but my notes say he was boomeranged.

Hit the Zombie Achievement (Finally) by casting and flashing back the 13-zombie spell. I also started by copying Azusa with Vizier of Many Faces. I also nuked the board right before getting the zombies, and managed to win the game while hitting all previous achievements, thus earning 5 swaps (TBD). It was a really fun game: Burgeoning happened, Kydele generated a ton of mana, Glint-Eye Nephilim drew me a ton of cards (And discarded a Wonder to pump itself). Azusa put on some huge early pressure (and Kiki Jiki couldn’t get going)

Again, I didn’t hit my Zombie achievement, so only 2 swaps. All I noted is that someone killed my Kruphix for no great reason, and then the next turn the other player won via Labratory Maniac.

I had Waste Not , but made 0 discards happen. I did not hit the zombie achievement, so only get two swaps.  8.5 Tails had a World Queller and a turn 1 Serra Ascendant, but my notes say that I won this one.

I had Waste Not on turn 2 and a Wheel in hand, but it got killed by an Aura Shards (hate that card).  Then I Decimated the Shards.  I did not hit the 20 zombies achievement, so I only earned two swaps.   Also, the Kynaios player complained that I took long turns, and that my deck didn’t “do anything” because Cascade was just diddly.  I took offense to that; I always take my turns with purpose when playing this deck, and I don’t actually always just cascade.

Something happened with Boompile, but I hit all achievements:  Play a Game, Cast Yidris, Commander damage an opponent, Commander damage EACH opponent, Cascade twice in a turn.

Game #221: Ravos/Tana

Game #221: Ravos/Tana

Vs. Atraxa +; Omnath Locus of Rage; Kynaios and Tymna
Result:   Neutral Loss

NOTE: due to a baby, I’m way behind in updates, so  I’m not going to write a full game write up initially. Also, due to me playing this game almost 4 months ago, I don’t remember the details from my notes as well

• I had an Ant Queen and Eldrazi Monument
• I cast Ravos twice, but he only lived a turn each time, due to Board Wipes
• Died before turn 10 to a huge army that included a 150/150 selfless squire that Kynaios gave trample somehow. Also Omnath vomited out like 30 elementals all at once with Scapeshift.
• I didn’t make as many tokens as I planned to.
• This was the very last game to fit into “The Book of Orzhov,” the purple moleskine that I keep my game write-ups in.  Time to get a new book!

About the Deck

Ravos is my favorite partner, and Tana makes 2/2s when he’s around. This deck is mostly about making tokens and swarming.

• Kynaios built up a big defense with Propaganda and some swords for offense
• Omnath almost had a Parallel Lives, but Kynaios countered it
• I had Reyhan with a Rancor and got to move counters, and Kraum did work too drawing cards
• Corpse Harvester fetched a Thraximundar, but it was too late.
• I huge horde of Angels did me for 46 (Luminarch Ascension for Kynaios).

About the Deck

This was a reconstruction, reconfiguring of my original 4-color tagteam zombie deck. Reyhan isn’t a zombie, but I rebuilt it around a Zombies and +1/+1 counter theme with stuff like Skullbriar and Grave Betrayal, etc.

I came really close to having a chance at winning, but Kynaios had a kill spell. I didn’t manage to damage all of my opponents.  Cool stuff happened though!

I played a few games with My brother while I was home for Christmas and let one count as a Project game. Technically I made my goal of “Damage all opponents with Yidris”, but since there was only one, I didn’t fully count it. I also Cascaded twice in a turn.
